Welcome to the website of the 5th Ranger Battalion!
We are a Realism Unit for the game Hell Let Loose and we plan to be the first unit to deploy into Hell Let Loose: Vietnam. As a Realism Unit we conduct ourselves very differently from a clan. We operate the unit as closely as possible to how a real United States Army unit during World War II functioned. We utilize realistic ranks, a chain of command, we have a comprehensive training program, and there is a high emphasis on team play.

SAT, 01 NOVEMBER 2025: Ranger of the Month (October 2025)

Sergeant Will Pate has consistently demonstrated exceptional dedication and initiative throughout the month of October and is a clear worthy winner of the Ranger of the Month. His willingness to assist fellow Rangers and take on some of the workload of HQ reflects true leadership, camaraderie and teamwork. He has played a key role in running multiple Candidates and incoming 63rd Infantry Division members through their Ranger Candidate Training School, ensuring high standards of readiness and integration.
Beyond his operational contributions, Sgt. Pate has invested countless hours running community projects: filming, editing, and producing footage from major events such as the ETO and Blitz, and is currently developing a monthly newsletter to keep the unit informed and engaged. His tireless efforts and positive attitude exemplify the Ranger spirit and make him a deserving recipient of this month’s ROTM award and the Soldier's Medal.
